•  Tutor - Burrill Green Corporate Security Business School

A business consultant specialising in corporate security issues, mainly in Africa.

Andrew Buchanan qualified as a teacher before graduating from the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. Following service in the British Army and a period in commerce, Andrew entered the security industry, managing a guarding operation in the UK. He subsequently took up a series of senior security appointments in Africa, working in the diamond mining industries of Sierra Leone, Zaire (Democratic Republic of Congo) and Angola.

He joined BAT with a global security management remit, and continued to develop his Sub-Saharan African responsibilities as Regional Security Manager for Africa.

He is a French speaker with extensive travel experience and intimate knowledge of most Sub-Saharan African countries.
